  1. STAGE 01

    Fresh air in

Outdoor air is drawn in through a filtered intake terminal on the façade.

  2. STAGE 02

    Extract air

Stale, humid air is pulled from the kitchen, bathroom and utility room.

  3. STAGE 03

    Heat exchange

The two air streams cross inside the core. Heat transfers across; the air itself never mixes.

  4. STAGE 04

    Supply air

Pre-warmed fresh air is delivered to the living room and bedrooms.

  5. STAGE 05

    Stale air out

The cooled, spent air is discharged outside, having given up its warmth.

  • Fresh filtered airClean, healthy air all year round.
  • Heat recoveryCaptures warmth from extract air and reuses it to preheat incoming air.
  • Lower energy lossRetains heat, reduces heating demand and lowers running costs.
  • Balanced ventilationContinuous, balanced airflow for comfort and wellbeing.

Questions

What is MVHR and do I actually need it?

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery supplies filtered fresh air to living rooms and bedrooms while extracting stale air from kitchens and bathrooms, passing both through a heat exchanger so the outgoing air warms the incoming air. It makes most sense in airtight new builds and deep retrofits, where opening windows wastes the heat you have paid for.

How much does a ventilation system cost?

Our packages start at £490 for consultation and design, £1,490 for a domestic system supplied and installed, and £3,490 for a full MVHR system with commissioning. The final figure depends on property size, duct routes, access and equipment. The survey and the fixed quote that follows it are free.

How long does installation take?

A flat is usually 7 to 10 working days across first and second fix. A house with a full MVHR system typically runs two to three weeks, and we work around the rest of the programme rather than across it.

Will it be noisy?

It should not be. Noise comes from undersized ducts, poor unit placement and missing attenuation, not from ventilation itself. We size ducts for low air velocity, mount units on anti-vibration fixings and fit attenuators where the design calls for them.

Do you provide a commissioning certificate?

Yes. Every terminal is balanced and measured against the design flow rates with calibrated equipment, and you receive the commissioning sheet, the O&M manual and the Part F documentation at handover. Building control will ask for it.

How often do the filters need changing?

Typically every six to twelve months depending on the location and the filter grade. Central London properties near main roads sit at the shorter end. Our service plans cover the changes and log them for you.

Which areas do you cover?

London and the South East, including the M25 corridor, Berkshire, Surrey and Hertfordshire. For larger commercial projects we travel further — ask.

  • They found the reason our old system was so loud in twenty minutes — the ducts were half the size they should have been. Redesigned, reinstalled, and now we forget it is there.

    Homeowner · Richmond

  • The commissioning pack went straight to building control without a single query. That has never happened to us before on a ventilation package.

    Project manager · Ealing

  • Fitted around our programme instead of fighting it. Turned up when they said, cleared up after themselves, and the flow rates matched the design.
